Man dies after bed lit on fire by smoking near oxygen tank

A man died this morning by apparently lighting his bed on fire and suffering burns after smoking while using an oxygen tank, authorities said.

Andrzej Piotrowski, 57, was declared dead a little before 10 a.m. after suffering facial burns at his home in the 3100 block of North Hamlin Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
